Cllr Ray Aldridge

News has reached the Council that Cllr Ray Aldridge sadly passed away on Saturday 27 July.

Ray was elected as a parish councillor in 1995 and has served Stoke Poges as Chairman of the Recreation and Environment Committee, as Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee and as Vice Chairman of the Council.

Ray’s knowledge of the village and our parishioners was invaluable. Ray was always a dependable and committed member of the volunteer teams organising and setting up parish events including ‘Carols on the Green’ and the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and showed a strong sense of duty and commitment. He was always  one the first helpers to arrive to set up, and he would be there working cheerfully until everything was packed up and tidied away.

Ray will be sadly missed and his family are in our thoughts. The Union Flag at the corner of Hollybush Hill and Bells Hill will fly at half mast in Ray’s honour.
