16/01325/FUL             T-Mobile Telephone Mast, East of B416 Gerrards Cross Road, SL2 4DR

Replace and relocate 15m monopole (15.4m to top of antennas) with 20.24m lattice mast, transfer the existing 2 antennas to new mast, install 6 new antennas and 2 600mm diameter dish antennas on the new mast, install 2no. equipment cabinets and development ancillary thererto including overhead cable gantry and support poles, all within a fenced compound extension.

Parish Comments:- Object: EP18 and GB1

We believe this proposal conflicts with policies which seek to protect the greenbelt and quality of developed areas. The increase in height and the nature of the structure and materials will have an adverse affect on the character and visual amenity. Our previous comments suggested that a more sympathetic use of materials to camouflage could be used. See links: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Camouflaged_antenna_towers_and_masts

Parish Comments:-  Object, this whole application contravenes the following policies:-  EP3 (a), (b), (c), (d) & (e), H9 (a) & (b), H10 (a), (b), (c), (d), & (e), EP5 (a) & (b)

Linkswood harmonises well with the houses on the side of the road, Contrary to the NPPF paragraph 60 we believe that this does not reflect local distinctiveness.

If minded to approve we believe that this will act as a precursor for further inappropriate redevelopment and over development of this distinctive road

The proposed development, by virtue of a combination of its size, scale, massing, style and proximity to the sites flank boundaries, would appear overdominant, obtrusive and out of keeping, as well as appearing as a cramped overdevelopment of the site. As such, it would have an adverse impact on the street scene and the character and visual amenities of the area. Therefore the proposal is contrary to policies H9 and EP3 of the South Bucks District Local Plan (adopted March 1999), and policy CP8 of the South Bucks Core Strategy (adopted February 2011), and the NPPF.

Full Planning Permission

Parish Comments:-  Object EP3, this does not harmonise with the surrounding area.
