MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE RECREATION AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE OF THE STOKE POGES PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY 5 JUNE 2017 AT 7.30 P.M. IN THE LIONEL RIGBY ROOM AT THE VILLAGE CENTRE, ROGERS LANE,
Present:- Cllr Carter (Chair), Cllr Bagge, Cllr Cox, Cllr Crocker and Cllr Lynch.

MINUTES
001/RE/17 To Elect a Chairman for R & E for the coming year 17/18.
Cllr Lynch proposed that Cllr Carter be Chairman, this was seconded by Cllr Bagge, RESOLVED to agree all in favour.
002/RE/17 To Elect a Vice Chairman for R & E for the coming year 17/18.
Cllr Crocker proposed that Cllr Cox be Vice Chairman, this was seconded by Cllr Lynch, RESOLVED to agree all in favour.

004/RE/17 Apologies for absence.
APOLOGIES were received from Cllr Fox & Cllr Hoskins.
005/RE/17 Declarations of interest
Members to declare any personal interest in any item of business as defined in the Code of Conduct 2012. If that interest is a prejudicial interest as defined in the Code; the Member should withdraw from the meeting for that item.

006/RE/17 Minutes
RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the R&E Committee held on 27 February 2017 which were signed by the Chairman.
007/RE/17 Football Bells Hill
RESOLVED to agree all in favour to continue to rent the facilities to both football clubs for the season
17/18, provided they agree to the terms and conditions set out in the letter sent by the clerk after the
last meeting.
009/RE/17 Nettleship Wood
NOTED that a new tenant will be taking the Frank Solari field from 1 June 2017.
Cllr Bagge proposed to accept the quote from Albert Huber which was tabled to level off the access entrance to the To the Frank Solari field total cost £1280, this was seconded by Cllr Cox, RESOLVED to agree, all in favour.
010RE/17 Bells Hill and Plough Lane Recreation Grounds
Cllr Bagge confirmed that the Veolia grant application had been submitted in full. The Clerk had applied for several much smaller grants as well.
NOTED RoSPA reports have been received, AGREED to add to budgets in November enough money to carry out some essential works highlighted.
NOTED that the basket swing frame in Bells Hill was condemned and has been taken out of action. NOTED quotation to replace the frame with a metal one to match other equipment. Cllr Lynch proposed to accept the quotation for a Hag replacement at £2676 to replacing the frame with a metal one and use the existing basket, this was seconded by Cllr Carter, RESOLVED to agree all in favour.
011/RE/17 Pavilion
NOTED snagging meeting to be held ON 3 July with Heighways Associates before asking the PC to
sign off the retention.
DISCUSSED and DECIDED that no signage was required on the new Pavilion.
012/PC/17 Bells Hill Green
NOTED a new tree has been planted on the Green from the horticultural society.
Friends of Bells Hill working party are meeting for the first time on 6 June 2017
Clerk is looking at costs to install an outside tap, costs to be brought back to next full pc meeting for
approval.
NOTED Hanging Baskets and troughs are now installed.
Quote tabled to install flowers at the entrances/exits to Stoke Poges signs. Cllr Bagge proposed to
accept option A at a cost of £556 to be taken from the general fund.
013/RE/17 Allotments
Update given from Cllr Cox on allotments, no further action required.
014/RE/17 Litter Picking Event
To resolve to agree whether or not to purchase our own litter pickers for the planned future events or to carry on borrowing from SBDC.
015/RE/17 Bins
Cllr Bagge proposed to agree to install two new litter bins at two bus stops which do not have any at present, one litter bin at Plough Lane recreation ground and one new dog bin to go at the entrance to Nettleship Wood on Templewood Lane, Cost approximately £1650, this was seconded by Cllr Carter, RESOLVED to agree all in favour.
016/RE/17 Trees
NOTED that an item about roadside trees was on the recent Clerks meeting at SBDC which was attended by the SBDC tree officer? RESOLVED to agree all in favour to get quotes for inspections of the trees on our land on Duffield Lane and Templewood Lane, inspectors must have professional indemnity insurance cover.
017/RE/17 Brockhurst Wood
NOTED item to be taken to next PC meeting regarding the sale of Brockhurst Wood.
018/RE/17 Outdoor Cinema 8 September 2017
NOTED that this is now booked.
019/RE/17 Working Party for Xmas Lights Ceremony/Bells Hill Green
NOTED that the clerk is still trying to get TfB to come out to discuss the new feeder pillar.
