Donate Your Metal Objects to Help Make Our New Statue

WANTED

The Parish Council has commissioned a statue of a soldier, as a memorial to those lost in armed conflict, which will be installed in 2018 where the pergola is currently sited on the village green. This will be to mark 100 years of the end of WW1.

The statue will be made from everyday metal objects and the sculptor has invited villagers to donate metal items to be incorporated into the statue, perhaps because they have some personal or sentimental significance.

He can use anything made of steel/metal that you would find in the average garden shed or workshop but preferably not painted or galvanised.

The Parish Council will be collecting items on the day of Carols on the Green, Friday 8 December, from 2 pm until 10 pm at the Village Centre. If you have something you would like to be incorporated into the statue, please bring it along.

Thank you
