***Bucks County Council Changes to Bus Services 335 and 353***

Changes affecting local bus services 335 and 353 from 1st October 2018

As you may be aware, Carousel Buses started operating a new route, Service 104, in June 2018. This is an hourly service running from High Wycombe to Slough via Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, Stoke Poges and Wexham. It covers much of the same route as the Redline Buses Service 335/353 between Slough and Gerrards Cross and runs a more comprehensive timetable six days per week.

The number of passengers travelling doesn’t support the two services and we have had comments that having two services following each other along the same route isn’t sensible.

As a result, from 1st October, Redline will be running a revised 335 timetable which combines the old 335 and 353 routes into a single service designed to complement rather than compete with Route 104. This will also reduce the pressure on the bus subsidy budget as the 335/353 was partly subsidised by Buckinghamshire County Council; the Carousel route runs without financial support.

All points previously served will still have a bus service. The new timetable is designed to accommodate most of the regular journeys being made now, including the journeys to Chalfonts Community College, although in some cases the number of journeys or the range of destinations will change, particularly where fewer trips are being made.

Full timetables are now published on the BCC website at: https://www.buckscc.gov.uk/services/transport-and-roads/buses-and-trains/changes-to-bus-services/. Information for passengers will also be displayed on buses and the roadside timetables will be updated nearer to the introduction date.
