MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE RECREATIONAND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE OF THE STOKE POGES PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY 25 FEBRUARY 2019 AT 7.30 P.M.IN THE DEBBIE TOWART ROOM AT THE VILLAGE CENTRE, ROGERS LANE,

042/RE/19       Items by Members of Public Present 7.30pm-7.45pm

The meeting is open to the public and press and the first 15 minutes will be reserved, if required, for public comment.

043/RE/19  Apologies for absence.

APOLOGIES were received from Cllr Carter & Cllr Hoskins.

044/RE/19  Declarations of interest

Members to declare any personal interest in any item of business as defined in the Code of Conduct 2012.  If that interest is a prejudicial interest as defined in the Code; the Member should withdraw from the meeting for that item.

045/RE/19  Minutes

RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the R&E Committee held on 22 October 2018 which were signed by the Chairman.

046/RE/19  Football Bells Hill

NOTED that the update meeting held with Football Manager went well and the trial of teas and coffees being supplied at games has been successful with no issues.  They are now set up with the FA to promote kids football and have requested to use the Plough Lane pitch.  To agree an amount per game to charge for the pitch use.  Cllr Bagge proposed that they use the Plough lane pitch at a charge of £25 per game, provided they ensure that the parking in the area is policed and that the verges are not used, this was seconded by Cllr Lynch, RESOLVED to agree all in favour.

NOTED possible change of goal posts at Bells Hill Recreation ground to be removed after each game and stored behind the pavilion, all at clubs cost.

047/RE/19  Nettleship Wood

NOTED a possible tenant has come forward, the Clerk and Cllr Carter will meet to discuss further and bring back.

048/RE/19           Bells Hill and Plough Lane Recreation Grounds

Nothing to report.

049/RE/19  Pavilion

NOTED nothing to report, all maintenance up to date.  Storage has been placed at the rear of the pavilion for the uniformed groups leaving space for the football team.

050/RE/19  Bells Hill Green

NOTED that the group will be starting work again soon, and replacing all soil around the trees which is poor quality.

051/RE/19           Allotments

Cllr Cox reported that on the whole the allotments are very tidy.

NOTED that the gate is now being kept closed and locked during the day as requested, since the clerks letter went out before Christmas making the change to the allotment agreement.

052/RE/19  Tree works on Duffield Lane

NOTED that tree works have been completed.  AGREED that they be inspected again every two years so 2020 and onwards.

053/RE/19           Christmas Lights Ceremony/Bells Hill Green

NOTED and confirmed date of this year’s event is 29 November 2019.  Event to follow same procedure as 2018.

RESOLVED to agree to bring this decision to refurbish the sleigh and agree an amount to spend to full council once there is a plan of works or items to purchase.

054/RE/19  Litter Picking Event

NOTED litter picking dates are:-

Saturday March 9 – 10am – 12noon

Wednesday May 15 – 6pm – 8pm

Saturday July 13 – 10am – 12 noon

Wednesday September 10 – 6pm – 8pm

055/RE/19  Outdoor Cinema 7 September 2019

NOTED that the contract is signed for 7 September 2019. Film choices been taken to Full Council for decision.

056/RE/19  125 Year Anniversary – Picnic in the park.

AGREED that the poster will be taken to Full Council for agreement before advertising.

057/RE/19  NOTED Date of next meeting:- 

24 June 2019.
