MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE STOKE POGES PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY 1 JULY 2019 AT 7.30 P.M. IN THE LIONEL RIGBY ROOM AT THE VILLAGE CENTRE, ROGERS LANE, STOKE POGES, SL2 4LP

Present:-  Cllr Carter (Chair), Cllr Cox, Cllr Crocker, Cllr Finan & Cllr Fox.

MINUTES

061/PC/19 – Public Session Time (7.30 pm-7.45 pm)

The meeting is open to the public and press and fifteen minutes will be reserved, if required, for public comment.

One member of public asked about speed issues on Wexham Street which he has noticed has increased in the last six months.  Several options were suggested, the PC would ask the police if they could carry out speed checks, the PC would ask the community speed watch group to monitor that area, and the PC would send the resident data from the PC’s own SID.

062/PC/19 – Apologies for Absence

APOLOGIES were received from Cllr Bagge, Cllr Hoskins and Cllr Lynch.

063/PC/19 – Declarations of interest       

Members to declare any personal interest in any item of business as defined in the Code of Conduct 2012.  If that interest is a disclosable pecuniary interest as defined in the Code; the member should withdraw from the meeting for that item.

064/PC/19 – Minutes

RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the Council meeting held on 10 June 2019 which were signed by the Chairman.

065/PC/19 – Vacancy

NOTED the casual vacancy did not receive any requests for election so can be filled by co-option.

066/PC/19 – County Councillor’s Report  

Nothing to report.

067/PC/19 – District Councillors’ Report

Nothing to report.

068/PC/19 – Chairman’s Update from last meeting.

Nothing to report.

069/PC/19 – Khalsa School

Cllr Carter reported that the meeting to be held with the headmaster was cancelled by him the day before!  Cllr Carter read out a report from the meeting the head held with his governors.

070/PC/19  – Information Board 

Item deferred until next meeting, Cllr Crocker offered to help with the consultation.

071/PC/19 – Defibrillator

Update on purchase, a demonstration has been arranged for this week before purchase takes place.   NOTED that a resident has kindly donated £500 to the fund, clerk to send thank you letter.

072/PC/19 – School Traffic Working Party

Cllr Carter read out notes taken from the public meeting held on 18 June 2019, circulated with minutes.

073/PC/19  – Bells Hill Green

Nothing to update.

074/PC/19 – Picnic 7 July 2019

NOTED plans for event are all in place.

075/PC/1- – Enforcement Officer

The LAF have agreed to pay £5k towards an officer for the year so long as the Parish Council contributes £13k. Cllr Carter proposed that the Parish Council resolve to agree to pay £13k towards an officer as previously discussed and agreed in principle, this was seconded by Cllr Finan, RESOLVED to agree all in favour.

076/PC/19 – Community Library

A reported was tabled from Cllr Bagge of a meeting held with BCC’s Head of Service and proposal to establish a working party to bring forward proposals for setting up a community library for Stoke Poges.  AGREED by all to set up a working party consisting of Cllr Bagge, Cllr Carter, Cllr Crocker, Cllr Finan and Cllr Fox, and to bring back to the September meeting to agree to arrange the first meeting.
