Vote for Stoke Poges at Tesco!
Dear All
Stoke Poges is one of three regional finalists in Tesco’s Bags of Help initiative. The scheme will see three community groups and projects in each of these regions awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
If you are in Gerrards Cross Tesco from 31 October to 13 November please vote for Stoke Poges Parish Council.
There will be three causes to vote for. Of the three we will be awarded the above amounts dependent on how many votes are cast, in other words, MORE VOTES = MORE MONEY.
WHAT ARE WE HOPING TO DO WITH THE FUNDING?

Bags of Help offers community groups and projects in each of Tesco’s 416 regions across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags. The public will now vote in store from 26 September to 9 October on who should receive the £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 awards. In total, there is over £12.5 million up for grabs.

Parish Council receives Court date
Stoke Poges Parish Council has been informed that the hearing against the Secretary of State’s decision to grant prior approval to the Khalsa Secondary Academy in Stoke Poges will be heard in the High Court in London on 12th and 13th July. The Parish Council will be represented by Guy Williams from Landmark Chambers.
Vice-Chair of the Parish Council, Saera Carter, commented: “We are delighted that we finally have a date in the High Court for the village of Stoke Poges to have its voice heard. The Government have completely ignored the perfectly fair and reasonable arguments against siting a Secondary School in this beautiful Green Belt Buckinghamshire village. We look forward to being able to present our case to a Judge – whom we trust will agree with the District Council and the Planning Inspector to refuse prior approval for this school.”
The Parish Council will make a further statement following the outcome of the hearing in the High Court in July.
