Annual Horticultural Show
Since 1884 there has been an annual marquee show (except in war years), organised by the Stoke Poges Wexham & Fulmer Horticultural Society. It is held in the grounds of The Stoke Poges School on Rogers Lane in late July. The annual show is a popular event, a highlight of the summer season, and a pleasant and relaxing opportunity to socialise.
The Horticultural Society is determined to ensure the continuance of the show and welcomes marquee exhibitors, which enhance the show and provide publicity for the participating horticultural organisation.
There are many stalls selling crafts and local produce, jams, cakes, plants etc., as well as being a quintessentially English event with a Pimms and traditional cream tea marquee and with music from a brass band.
The show is open to all exhibitors whether or not they are members of the society and the competition categories also include a children’s section. The Stoke Poges Horticultural Show has developed a great reputation in South Buckinghamshire.
There are exhibits in the marquee provided by local nurserymen and these exhibits lend an extra dimension of interest for visitors and also exhibitors in our scheduled classes.
