Stoke Poges Bowls Club
The bowling green in Stoke Poges is situated in the grounds of the ‘Polish Association in Slough’, almost opposite St. Giles church. The green is not visible to passing traffic on Church Lane so some local residents may not be aware it is there.
The club is affiliated to Buckinghamshire Bowls Association and Bowls England so if our members wish, they can enter county and national competitions.
The green is open for members to play every afternoon and evening, plus Saturday and Sunday mornings, from late April to late September.
There are also many organised events – friendly matches are held against other local clubs every Saturday and Sunday afternoons plus some weekday afternoons. All members are encouraged to participate in these matches which are all of a mixed format (both men and ladies playing) so the whole family can play together.
There are also some league matches for the more competitively minded – these are played on weekday evenings.
Bowls is a game for all ages – Stoke Poges Bowls Club members range from 12 to over 90 years old. The club is always keen to recruit new members whether experienced in the game or not.
Coaching sessions and equipment are always available for new bowlers to come and try the game with no obligation.
