Stoke Poges & Wexham Women’s Institute
The WI meet at 2.15 pm on the second Wednesday of each month in the Village Centre.
Our speakers reflect a wide range of interests in local history, the arts, travel and the humanities.
Our group belongs to the Beeches Group of W.I.’s comprising George Green, Hedgerley, Stoke Poges & Wexham, Taplow & Hitcham and Templewood. We socialise closely with other groups and enjoy attending garden parties and Christmas events together.
We organise an annual spring coffee morning, a ploughman’s lunch in the summer and each August we arrange a summer outing, which may be a visit to a stately home, to the seaside, a museum, or even shopping!
Stoke Poges W.I. was formed in 1918 with over 100 founder members. Our aims today remain as they were almost a century ago; to enjoy friendship, to learn, to widen members’ horizons and to influence local, national and international affairs.
