What do 1st Stoke Poges Guides get up to?
Guides aims to be a girl lead group and so a group discussion is held each term to decide which part of the Guide programme the girls are interested in covering. Most activities are done during the regular weekly meeting and have included things like team-building activities, learning about what to do in an emergency, performing arts (dance & acting), learning survival skills, film watching and pamper evenings.
They Guides have also had some events which have taken part outside the meeting place. This year they have been on a weekend Guide holiday, a boating day where they sailed and rowed, orienteering in Langley Park, and on a trip to the O2 to see Disney on Ice.
As girls progress through Guiding they have additional opportunities to join in with regional events. For example, one of the unit recently went forward to be selected to attend an international camp.
Can I get involved?
