Launch of Stoke Poges Community Hub

A new community group centred on health and wellbeing

12th December 2025

On Thursday 11th December, around fifty residents attended the launch of the Stoke Poges Community Hub, a new community group which will include workshops and information around health and wellbeing.

We had positive feedback from guests, with many suggestions on things that they would like help or support with, including:

  • Digital Café
  • Memory Café
  • Age UK (e.g. befriending, transport, benefits, dementia support)
  • Bereavement
  • Legal, wills, powers of attorney
  • Public transport
  • Scam awareness
  • Trading Standards
  • ‘Safe and Well’ visits from the Fire and Rescue Service
  • Bucks Vision
  • Carers’ Club
  • Men’s Sheds / Community Sheds
  • U3A (University of the 3rd Age)
  • Men’s health
  • Communication / Digital notice board screen at the shops
  • Putting together a directory of community groups

Preparation is already under way to roll out a full programme starting in January.

It was agreed that the hub would meet monthly to start with, so dates for 2026 will be January 15th, February 19th, March 19th, April 16th, May 21st, June 18th, July 16th, August 20th, September 17th, October 15th, November 19th and December 17th.

Sessions will start at 10.30am in the Social Club at The Village Centre on Rogers Lane, and refreshments will be available. Please put the first date in your diary!

This project is a collaboration between Stoke Poges Parish Council, Carers Bucks, Threeways Surgery and NHS Buckinghamshire. Guest speakers and workshops will be planned monthly and there will be an opportunity to speak confidentially if preferred.

We will continue to update you on this initiative.
