Objections to potential release of Green Belt land in Stoke Poges
Eleven sites are under consideration by Buckinghamshire Council as part of their Local Plan
12th March 2026
The Parish Council has responded to Buckinghamshire Council's Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA), which has identified 11 sites within the parish that are currently under consideration for potential release from the Green Belt.
Over recent weeks, Stoke Poges Parish Council has been working hard (39 man hours) to review these sites and provide clear, evidence-based reasons why this land should remain protected as Green Belt.
In its response to the local planning authority, the Parish Council has highlighted important issues including landscape impact, pressure on local infrastructure, flood risk and the importance of preserving the character and openness of the parish. You can find detail of our analysis and objections in the PDF downloads below.
While inclusion in the HELAA indicates that land has been suggested for possible development, it does not mean that it will automatically be removed from the Green Belt or approved for building. The Parish Council will continue to engage with the process and advocate for the protection of the parish and the views of the local community.
If you wish to comment to Buckinghamshire Council, please do so on their Local Plan Consultation website. Comments should be submitted by 16th March 2026.
