Proposals to build up to 700 homes at Wexham Golf Club

Residents invited to take part in consultation

16th May 2026

Hawridge Land is bringing forward proposals for new homes across two parcels of land that currently form part of the golf course at Wexham Golf Club, and are inviting feedback from the wider local community.

This will consist of up to 700 new homes across two separate outline planning applications, comprised of around 450 homes on the eastern parcel (Wexham) and around 250 homes on the western parcel (Stoke Poges). The proposals also provide the potential to deliver new community and play spaces, as well as substantial public green space.

The Parish Council, together with our Unitary Councillors, has serious concerns regarding this application and the scale of development currently being proposed in and around Stoke Poges. We are taking professional planning advice and are working closely with Wexham Parish Council and our MP, Joy Morrissey.

Residents may be aware that there are several major planning applications and development proposals currently under consideration which, combined, could result in more than 1,300 new dwellings across the area. The Parish Council believes this level of growth, over such a short period of time, would place unacceptable pressure on local infrastructure and public services.

Our roads and country lanes are already heavily congested, and additional development will inevitably increase traffic pressures. Local services are also stretched, with residents already experiencing long waits for GP appointments and significant delays at A&E departments.

There are also wider concerns about the long-term impact on the character and identity of our village. If all proposed developments proceed, the gradual coalescence of Wexham and Stoke Poges could erode the separation between communities and significantly alter the rural setting of the village.

The site under consideration forms an important green buffer between the urban expansion of Slough and Stoke Poges. Its loss would have a harmful impact on the openness and distinct character of the area.

We strongly encourage all residents to take part in the consultation process and make their views known. Community feedback is extremely important and will help ensure that local concerns are fully understood and considered as part of the decision-making process.

We will continue to update as and when we have a clearer picture how new legislation will affect our response.
