Introduction

MINUTES OF THE STOKE POGES RECREATION & ENVIRONMENT MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 10 JULY 2023 AT 9.05 P.M. FOLLOWING THE FULL PARISH COUNCIL MEETING IN THE LIONEL RIGBY ROOM AT THE VILLAGE CENTRE, ROGERS LANE, STOKE POGES, SL2 4LP

Present:- Cllr Carter (Chair), Cllr Bagge, Cllr Bassi, Cllr Crocker

In Attendance:- Mrs J Simmonds (Clerk)

Agenda Items

001/RE/23 Election of a Chairman

Cllr Crocker proposed that Cllr Carter be Chairman for 23/24 this was seconded by Cllr Bagge, RESOLVED to agree all in favour.

002/RE/23 Election of a Vice Chairman

Cllr Carter proposed that Cllr Crocker be Vice Chairman for year 23/24, this was seconded by Cllr Bassi. 

RESOLVED to agree all in favour.

003/RE/23 Items by Members of Public Present first 15 Minutes.

The meeting is open to the public and press and the first 15 minutes will be reserved, if required, for public comment.

004/RE/23 Apologies for absence.

APOLOGIES were received from Cllr Cox.

005RE/23 Declarations of interest

Members to declare any personal interest in any item of business as defined in the Code of Conduct 2012.  If that interest is a prejudicial interest as defined in the Code, the Member should withdraw from the meeting for that item.

006/RE/23 Minutes

RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the R&E Committee held on 27 February 2023 which were signed by the Chairman.

007/RE/23 Football Bells Hill 

The Clerk updated that the club may have two not three teams next season, one adult and one kids on a Sunday ages around 9-11.  Cllr Crocker proposed that we charge for however many teams they have, this was seconded by Cllr Bagge, RESOLVED to agree all in favour.  It was NOTED that 60% of the kids interested were girls.

008/RE/23 Nettleship Wood

Update on Frank Solari field and other paddocks, make any decisions necessary, nothing to update.

NOTED that the tree inspection has been carried out, report and quote for works was circulated.  Cllr Crocker proposed that the quote be accepted under health and safety and taken from the budget set aside for this work, this was seconded by Cllr Bagge, RESOLVED to agree all in favour.

009/RE/23 Bells Hill and Plough Lane Recreation Grounds 

Update and any decisions as required.

NOTED that the MUGA cleaning and re-painting due in Spring 2023, was scheduled to take place on 3 July 2023 however the water pressure was not sufficient for the works to be carried out.  Company to suggest either using a bouser or local neighbour possibly to be re-imbursed for costs.  DISCUSSED and decided to look for another company.

NOTED that MUGA opening and closing working well.

NOTED new play equipment as agreed has all been installed.

010/RE/23 Pavilion

Update and any decisions as required.

Nothing to update.

011/RE/23 Allotments

NOTED Update from Cllr Cox on allotments. Report circulated. To make any decisions around this report. AGREED to advertise allotments ongoing in Stoke Poges News.

012/RE/23 Bells Hill Green

Update on upkeep of Green – NOTED all going well and looking good.

013/RE/23 Carols on the Green

To make any decision necessary.

NOTED that Clerk is working on getting quotes for the purchase of a Christmas Tree for this year, to be taken back to Full Council in September for decision.

DISCUSSED whether or not to buy our own marquees for this and future events instead of borrowing them. AGREED by all to get costs for hiring rather than buying and bring to September meeting.

014/RE/23 Litter Picking

NOTED remaining litter picking dates for 2023

WEDNESDAY 12 JULY 2023- 6PM-8PM

SATURDAY 9 SEPTEMBER 2023 - 10AM-12NOON
